My Year End Activities

Usually, my year end leave starts at 2 days before Christmas, until the first week of January.  Had a quite late start this year due to my limited paid leave balance, so my annual year end leave had to start at 26th onward.  This left me with very limited time to really make this school holiday a real holiday, especially to Nicole, whom my full responsibility rested upon.  She begged me to take my leave the soonest her school holiday started, but I could only wish I could do so.

Anyway, our year end covers 4 districts altogether, KK, Kota Marudu, Kota Belud and Ranau.  That's the best thing I could do under my current circumstances and my schedule.

Started the short holiday with just a very short night outing with kids, Nicole and friends.  Brought them for a short dinner at a shopping complex in KK, and then, upon their request, a little treat of games.  Glad to see their smiling faces.

In Kota Marudu, my activity was sports.  Both Futsal and Football.  Joined my close friend's family team and managed to clinch the champion title, be it through penalty.  The night before, 25th, we won our friendly futsal match, 12 - 5.  Great game.  But football was a totally different story.  Yes, I played the game before, when I was a teenager, but playing it again at this age, it is quite taxing to my aging body.  Still, it was a great and enjoyable game, thanks to sporting teammates and opponents.

Then, we were off to our family day at Kota Belud, my mom's side.  It was held at my youngest uncle's house.  The event was full of music, singing, laughter, games and food.  Nicole and cousin, Ashley won the Puppet Dance, thanks to their cute dancing and sensitive hearing.  Apart from my cluttering and a bit disturbed mind, everything else was good.  I was just a bit troubled by what I went through during the family day that I was caught a few times pondering to own self.

Well, finally, as our last resort, we are spending our time at Ranau, both to enable Nicole to spend time with her beloved cousins and to assist my quest to find a little peace of mind.

2013 is closing its door, and 2014 is opening its door at the same time.  I pray for His continuous guidance and protection upon this little family of mine, my greater family, my friends and to all of us.

God bless us all

  2. Yup, enjoying my year end more than before. Nope, my mom isn't from KB, she is from Tenghilan. It was my uncle's house, his wife's hometown.
