No, I am not complaining, nor am I letting out any pent-up explosive feelings. But, this is what I kept hearing, listening to and seeing lately. People don't feel they are appreciated enough, or at least, be treated accordingly.
In some cases, I do feel pity, or better word to put it, 'empathy'. Some people I know really do and always work hard to produce the best result, outcome they could ever possibly achieve or produce. However, these very people are the ones who always left out, just because of they don't always say 'Yes, I will' to every order, every request.
People, especially those who are in the higher positions, please understand. Everybody has different priority, different needs. I understand that as a manager, we always want to tap the best potential from our subordinates, but do you also realise that the potential comes in an inseparable package? Fulfill their needs, allow them to grow, some do it with their families, some with personal time, regular disembarkation from worldly life, and for amazingly some, with more and more work. That's okay, what we need to know as managers is to really know our priceless assets, the human resource, the living and most valuable asset. For once we provide them with what they need, they will be loyal to us, our wish is their command. We will have a great symbiotic relationship, one that allows both parties benefited from it.
I personally do not always crave for recognition for I do always remember that whatever good things I have in life, they are purely God's gifts upon me. For some friends I know who worked really hard and yet indirectly stabbed from the back (or maybe right between the eyes), I surely hope someday those on the top will realise the great potential they are letting down, and hopefully take the immediate remedial action. Don't let the treasure slipped away.
I know this entry might seem a bit indirect, and vague, but I am writing for those who are down, from the exact experience. I hope what you are going through will not let you down, but strengthen you further, just like fire hardens bricks, and purifies gold, hope you'll be as tough as one, and as pure and priceless as the latter.
God bless.
