8th February 2015, saw me recording a history in my life. The day spent and dedicated entirely for sports.
5.45 am: We headed out of our home, tagging along two kids with us, Nicole and my friend's 11 year old boy, Vaxter. Went straight to Penampang Stadium, where Penampang 10K Run, a marathon was supposed to take off at 6.30 am. The take off, however, happened about 5 minutes late, forgivable. The kids stayed at the stadium, with the organizers, each with their own tab to keep them occupied. A couple of minutes to an hour, I guess, at 58th minutes, I reached the finishing line, a minute or two behind my friend.
7.40 am: We ran to our car, which carefully parked in such a way it would not be possible to be double parked by others. I stepped on the gas, ran at 120 km/h, tried my best to reach Kg. Malangang, Kiulu football field for a friendly football match with the host. Reached the just in time, few minutes before 8.30 am. Played almost full time, managed to win 6 - 1. A big win, actually.
10.00 am: Almost all of us headed to recreational spot at a camping site in the same area. We had our lunch there, and a bit of splashing session in the river. A sight or two on the passing rafts.
The only proof for Penampang 10K Run, the black tshirt |
12.30 pm: Reached home.
3.30 pm: Went out again, to Likas Sports Complex, for a volleyball team selection, for Likas Church. I think we managed to get drafted. So greedy....
6.00 pm: Off again to Yayasan Sabah Badminton, for 'a game or two' of badminton with our futsal friends.
8.30 pm: The end of my sporting day. And the body started singing, the head began to ache. All those activities robbed me my good appetite. All I wanted to do was to hit the pillow and rest, but not until midnight when I finally able to beat the untimely insomnia and drifted off to sleep.
So, there you go. My sports day. I don't think I want to go the same feat again, though. Once is enough, for now.
One word .... 'pingsan'. hahahaha
