Still going strong

Books.  So you think with all those whining about tight and stressful schedule, I stop reading?  Not on my dear life.  After reading all the books I purchased in my last 'Books' entry (I thought that would take forever, but no...), I have added another 4 titles in my collection, which can all be categorized under the same genre, romance....sort of. Finished reading only one, so far, so many halts because of my schedule, of course.  So here they are....

1. Cinta Saiz XXL - Aliesha Kirana

I am still keeping my option open when it comes to reading.  Whatever I find worth my time, I will buy.  I love to have varied perspective on romance, from all different angles, ages, sizes and demographics.  This one is about one 'big' woman who thought she would never be able to find her soul mate, found luck and blessing when a very, very handsome and kind man asked for her hand in marriage.  Practically a stranger to each other, she could not believe her luck and found herself in constant insecurity and doubt in her marriage and in her faith towards her husband's love and devotion towards her. So, this whole book is about that insecurity, which sometimes can make you feel like...man...when will this thing over...kind of feeling. A so-so read, to pass extra time.

2. Perfect - Judith McNaught

I thought I haven't read this, I even read the synopsis at the back a few times before bringing it to the counter to actually buy it. Need a little dose of fantasy and romance to keep my day colored in soft, matte hue, just to soften the rough edges I found a bit too intimidating lately. Hah!...a vain effort to sound artificially romantic. So, this book is so Judith-ly stereotyped, you know what I mean.  The hero was a mistreated handsome, disowned wealthy - becomes famous actor/director in Hollywood, named Zack Benedict.  And the heroine was a once ruthless orphan adopted by a nice Minister/Pastor, beautiful eyes, 'wild', daring and creative girl named Julia.  Zack was wrongly convicted, accused for killing his ex-wife on filming set, which, of course, he didn't do. He broke out of jail and found shelter in a mountain cabin.  Okay, the rest, I have to finish reading this first.  Even though that would be my second read, I still can't remember the storyline, which I know you can pretty much predict.

3.  Eat, Pray, Love - Elizabeth Gilbert

A book/movie I have been eyeing for so long finally here, in my collection.  Even my friend recommended it (which is quite bizarre since she hasn't read the book herself).  Really am taking my sweet time to read this, reached almost half.  It's about the soul (own) searching of a woman in her 30s, after devastating divorce and failed affair. She went to Italy, India and Indonesia, searching for something more lasting than what she had had before.  And yes, that's all I can say about this book, so far, I'd better go back and finish reading it.  BTW, judging by the main character (Liz) in this book, I think Julia Robert is the best actress to play it.  Can totally imagine her in the character, pretty entertaining, I am sure.

4.  I've Got Your Number - Sophie Kinsella

Finally, a new release from Sophie Kinsella.  I thought I would have to wither first before I have my hand on another book from her.  Here's one of two new releases from her, the other one is Wedding Night, if I am not mistaken. That's already added to my wish/watch list.  I haven't read a single word from the book, because once I start reading it, I don't want to ever stop, I know that.  So, we'll wait for the finishing read there, okay?

Just a little note here, when buying those books above, the actual book that I was looking for was the latest print from Dan Brown, Inferno.  But it's still in large print now, priced RM99.  So, I have to wait a little bit longer for the normal print which will cost only RM35, the most.  Will definitely buy that, together with Sophie's Wedding Night.

A good read, folks....
