But I am still in love with it. Last Tuesday, during a warming up session before our friendly Futsal match, I sprained my ankle, and it is still a bit swollen now. Of course the pain is still there. That won't stop me from being active in sport. With the still painful ankle, I played badminton with a close friend on Thursday. My body objected real hard by giving me muscle cramp on the left calf, which only managed to stop me after completing a game. Have I fully recovered from both 'injuries'? No. Will I be taking a long break from sport to allow myself to recover? I don't think so.
I was just being me, as long as my body can take it, sports is my ultimate way to release tension, and feel happy. One thing left though, I really missed playing hockey again. Only introduced to it when I was in Form 4, I immediately fell in love, and managed to represent our District to the state level competition in Tawau (1994). Then, in 1995, our chance to represent our District was even brighter because we won the District level and will have more players from our side to represent the District. However, my mom already set a limit beforehand...District level, and no more. SPM examination...I didn't do that well anyway.
So, in UiTM, found my long lost love, hockey. And immediately signed up to join the team , although there were other games too, like badminton. I couldn't describe how 'heavenly' I felt every time we played, be it just for a practice session, or the real match. Well, that's just a history for now. At least someone made an effort to make the memory visible. Huh, how I love those days.........

Reading this entry makes me search inside me..and thinking..what is my passion? If you have passion in sport...what is mine? Coz definitely sport is not for me. I don't take long to find the answer though. Thanks for giving me an idea for a blog entry in the future.
ReplyDeleteBy the way..you consider you didn't do well in SPM? Seriously veey! You are a legend!
Christine Lapongan!! You made me smile cheek to cheek, friend. I was that close to miss the Grade 1, which means I was by far, missed the target. No worries, though, I got what I deserved. When I went to UiTM, I was just average, so, can my 'didn't do well' be justified.
ReplyDeleteI am glad I can be your inspiration to write, in your blog. Can't wait to read about your passion...Let me see, I have an idea in mind, but I'd like to see your blog first to find out whether this hunch is right.
I am afraid you have to wait for a little bit longer. I have to dig for some 'stuff' first to make it more..explainable.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what you say...you still a legend to me! La la la la *putting my hand on my ears*.
I am sure it's worth the wait. Will eagerly wait for it.
ReplyDeleteAnd friend, thanks for seeing me the way you do. I really appreciate it. You are a legend to me in a different way...hmm...let me keep this to myself..
