My journey from home to my hotel where I will be staying for the next 4 days can be considered a breeze, except for, of course, a few occasions where I was not sure where I was supposed to go to reach certain places eg: to my hotel (which actually just a walk away from my LRT stop), and to find my way to registration desk at KL Convention Centre. I was glad I finally found what I was looking for, but my poor feet....they are now aching for the very, very long walk. Guess this will be my routine for the rest of my days in here. I better get used to it.
I feel totally independent, be my own guide, my own company. There are times when I'd like to have friends to accompany me to such big event like this, but I think, I 'kinda' like it, you know, doing everything my way. No interference whatsoever, and the most important thing is, i learn to really 'live', so the next time I am here, I can help others to 'survive' in this big city. I have only my baby Nicole in mind, now and always.
Anyway, after inspecting the 'goodies' I was given during the registration, I feel lucky to be selected to represent my Department in this event. The topics are so interesting (honest...I love to learn more about those topics, all about Accounting, Financial Reporting and Standards, and the Economy) and the real plus, an opportunity to be an audience for our Tun Mahathir talk on Wednesday. Of course, they gave generous 'welcome gift' too. :)
I really wish I had the opportunity and guts to capture a scene I witnessed on my way back to my hotel. I had to pass quite a number of restaurants, indian and chinese. At the last Indian restaurant, just in front of my hotel, as I gave a casual look at the dish (looking for a potential place to have a local dish for lunch tomorrow), Indian fried chicken, to be exact, a chinese man was standing just next to the chicken. I thought he was just looking when he suddenly took one piece (the chicken) and oh so very casually...he walked away savouring his catch of the day. Nobody looked and I think it was his very lucky day. And how he really made my day today.
Well, it's time to get my rest for a long day tomorrow and days after here at the WCOA.
God Bless all of you out there, and for my Nicole, I love you very, very much.
