Yep, just a few weeks passed, another 2 new addition successfully logged into my list. One of them is already discussed/summarised in my other blog, so no need to be redundant here. But, maybe a glance on the cover is nice. Who knows, it is possible to judge the book from its cover? :))
So, here it is, one of Dan Brown's 'creation', a fiction that thrilled, and chilled me to the bone. Angels & Demons.
And, a real deviation from my usual reading list, a book, a novel in Bahasa Malaysia and I actually purchased it.
Surprised?! Don't be. Just read the title, and that very simple yet attractive cover. I guess I did judge the book by its cover. The author is a student (still), 22 years old. Very young, and yet very talented. A glance through the pages enough for me to tell her style is very much like Sophie Kinsella, Malay version.
Just like the title, this book is about a 'tomboy', going through a challenging life. She was quite rich, a Datuk's daughter. She was very cute @ beautiful (if she dress and behave like a woman) though her tomboyish appearance made her look more like a very cute yet handsome boy.
Few women fell in love with her, but her inside was still a pure, feminine woman, who craves to love and be loved by a real man. So, a little bit of crisis, drama, romance, friendship, all blended in a light tone, a quite interesting story. The only downturn was that there were few places where the writer's lack of idea, or maybe amateurism, shown quite obviously. What can you expect from a very young writer? Need to give her the opportunity, and room to grow. Still, it's a nice read. That's what I can say about the book.
For a more clearer 'picture', just read it yourself, ok?
Have a nice read.
