Sports...sports...sports

I should write about this long before, but like always, time was not on my side.  Every time I had extra time at work, my PC wouldn't cooperate.  I think blog is banned in our office.  So, whatever.

This year can be considered quite good for us, in terms of sports achievement.  I always one of our office's volleyball team member since 2004, but I skipped the 2009 event.  We had to limit our participants, and I thought there was no point spending much money on transportation for only half a day sport event.  With that limitation, of all the events we were in, we only managed to get first runner up for table tennis.

This year is better, a whole lot better.  Since my presence in the event was mandatory, because our superiors were kind enough to give me recognition for my work, I had to participate in at least an event.  Thus, I was the volleyball team leader.  Beach volleyball, to be exact.  And this is the second time I was going as the captain.  I didn't know how I would handle this, the only thing I knew was, I wouldn't be back empty handed.  That's my definite goal.

There was some kind of argument  in selection of players, since we need to 'allocate' the players into two different events, volleyball and netball.  Well, when it involved argument, I always lose.  The best players were lost to netball, which, I personally thought, had not much hope.

However, I went on with my small team of four (Halijah, Noraini, Nur Astika and me), with giant determination, and almost no support from outside the line.  We could say we managed to step into the final with our own effort and determination.  I must say I was really impressed by our performance.  I thought we could only managed to stay until quarter final.
 The Original Team....
....in action.

In the final, we had so much interruption from outside, we lost our focus and we lost.  Well, that's game.  We lost to the better team.  For the second time!!! Hahaha... The first time was in Malacca back in 2007.   Also in the final.  But you know what, first runner up was way better than nothing at all!!  At least I could say, as long as I was in the team, I wouldn't finish the game empty handed.  Thank God for this.
Going for our ice-cream treat, our reward for getting into the final.  Thanks Mr. Jalal!
Our final action.  See that purple crowd?  Our anxious supporters...
This is the team that beat us, twice!  Federal Team.
Yay!!!

So, excellent performance there, my dear teammates!!  Keep it up.  We'll go for gold next time.  Thank you for your unending support and teamwork.

(Shhh...seems to me the other event's team members are also interested to join volleyball team.  Hehehe...I guess they finally could see this is the game we can conquer, or could that be because of the excellent teamwork, and leadership.  Hahaha....perasannnnn!!!!)
