I am going to share a short story on my experience during our short 2-days discussion session (work related, of course) at our HQ last week.
My departure from KK to KL went smoothly. The flight that I always dread of was unbelievably quite a cruise, I actually enjoyed it. Except for the fact that during the flight, I was watched a little too closely by a kid next to me, while I was supposedly enjoying my meal. Of course, our meal arrived a little earlier than others, but I wondered, shouldn't a kid (age around 6 - 7 years old) be taught manners? I felt quite disturbed , and my meal time was more like a torturing time for me. I almost handed the kid my KitKat, but the father sat just next to her, and he seemed to be quite....intimidating, and could afford better meal than mine. I was afraid if I share my KitKat he would shoot me with killer look. I didn't want to take the risk.
Then, after meal, time for my nap. Unfortunately, the same girl gave me a hugely memorable gift. She passed wind a few times, and being on a plane, I did not have anywhere to go. I almost threw up, I desperately needed to get away but I hated to move from my seat during flight. So, I just had to bear with it, and luckily, the plane landed on the driveway with me in it, safe and sound.
The check in at the hotel was a bumpy experience, yet everything sorted out in time. Another bad experience I went through during my stay in KL happened on the first day we went back to hotel from our discussion. We took a taxi, and I thought we were lucky to get a taxi, a little more decent than the one our colleagues from Johor took before us. Little did I know the pretty packaging came with a nightmare for me.
The driver was an 'aged' Indian man. I took the front seat, as always. My first impression when I look at him was, "wow, he talked so much like our previous state office director." Then it dawned to me he was much more than that. Along the way, I had to bear his effort of flirting with me. Young man....I think I can bear it, at least until we reach hotel. But this old man? Come on, I was thinking of jumping out of the taxi, if not for the presence of my colleague at the back. He could be very 'gatal', but that was pretty much all that he could do with my friends watching from the back.
What did he do? Well, he tried to initiate conversations with me. I am okay with that, but imagine talking to someone whose face so close to you, that if he had 3 inches tongue, he could lick my face without any problems. He positioned himself that seemed to me more like he was trying to lean on me. Come on, he should be driving, and be a polite driver. Then, so oddly, he used his right hand (the one that supposed to stick on the steering) to shift gear. That would enable him to get closer to me. At last, I think he got what he wanted, his hand brushed ('accidentally', I supposed) my thigh. After that, he released us way before we reach our hotel. His excuse, the traffic jam was bad, whereas he could just drive a little further, away from the traffic , and reach the hotel.
I did not really care. All I knew was I felt relieved, finally able to get away from the old man. It wasn't the first time I experience such thing, it was just I always pray I never had to experience that again in the future.
Well, from then on, I will not sit at the front seat ever again. What an experience....
